When Liberty moved to Conference USA<\/a>, it was safe to assume the Flames would be competitive in the league. But few guessed how spectacular they would be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liberty<\/a> went undefeated in the regular season, beating six of their CUSA foes by double digits. The Flames went on to defeat New Mexico State in the conference championship and were the Group of Five<\/a> team to make a New Year\u2019s Six bowl, ending the year with a 45-6 loss to Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And with head coach Jamey Chadwell, quarterback Kaidon Salter, and plenty more stars returning, Liberty should be one of the best G5 teams again in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
