Bryant Joins The CAA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bryant leaves the Big South\u2013OVC Football Association for the CAA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CAA will be up to 16 members in 2024, then drops to 15 members when Delaware joins the FBS in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Big South\u2013OVC Football Association moves to nine members, seven from the OVC side and only two from the Big South (Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert Morris Joins The NEC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

RMU leaves the Big South\u2013OVC Football Association to join the NEC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Merrimack & Sacred Heart Leave NEC, Go Independent For Football<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Merrimack and Sacred Heart announced they are leaving the NEC to join the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The MAAC does not sponsor football, and Merrimack and Sacred Heart will play as FCS independents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NEC will have eight members in 2024 with the additions of RMU and Mercyhurst and the departures of Merrimack and Sacred Heart.<\/p>\n\n\n

Western Illinois Joins The Big South-OVC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

WIU leaves the MVFC for the OVC and Big South\u2013OVC Football Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Big South\u2013OVC Football Association moves to nine members, seven from the OVC side and two from the Big South (Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MVFC moves to 11 members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kennesaw State Goes FBS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Owls join Conference USA, a league that also features Sam Houston and Jacksonville State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

West Georgia Joins FCS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

West Georgia leaves D2 to join the ASUN and the United Athletic Conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UWG went 6-4 in 2023, 8-2 in 2022, and 9-3 in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SFA Returns To The Southland Conference<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stephen F. Austin is set to return to the Southland Conference as a full-time member beginning July 1st, 2024, departing the WAC and the United Athletic Conference (the joint league for ASUN and WAC football).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Southland will grow to nine football members this fall as SFA joins Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Lamar, McNeese, Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southeastern Louisiana University, and Texas A&M-Commerce. It\u2019ll grow to 10 football teams in 2025 with the addition of UTRGV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
